Sadly, I couldn't join my friends in Paris, but at least I got postcards! It's funny to think that at the time, we were all but a 3 hour Chunnel ride away from each other. Next time!

What Will You Celebrate?

If you haven't already heard, Disneyland's offering free admission on your birthday in 2009. Register here if you haven't already done so, and prepare for the entire park to wish you a happy birthday. It's that awesome. Here's me and my Disneyland buddy on our favorite ride. I honestly don't know why we're facing different directions, but I blame the goat.

Orlando May 2009

What's a trip to Orlando without going to the DisneyWorld resorts? Unfortunately, my friend and his family went on a vacation to Australia, but he was nice enough to leave park tickets for me at my hotel. My first stop was the Hollywood Studios, since I've never been, and is best described as Universal Studios with a Disney vibe to it. The majority of the attractions are stage shows, and the rest of it is built like a studio lot. After Hollywood Studios closed, I hauled ass to the Magic Kingdom to get in some key rides, and to also catch the fireworks show. There's definitely something magical about a Disney fireworks show: the fireworks are new and jaw dropping, but what really makes them is the synchronization with Disney narrative and music. Next on my Orlando to-do list is to check out their version of Fantasmic!

One of my favorite things about going to London is all the crazy signs that I see. When my coworker and I first saw the menu item, I have to admit that we sat there and giggled for about 5 minutes like the juveniles that we are, and haven't been able to stop talking about it since, especially since finding out what they actually are. The last photograph, and my personal favorite, was found on a random door near the Soho burough.
