Maui, Hawaii

There's been a recent dry spell in the postcard department, but look what arrived today! Not only is it a postcard, but it's a vintage Hawaiian postcard made out of a piece of wood. Check out their website for more details. THANKS, DUDE!!!

Paris, France
Sadly, I couldn't join my friends in Paris, but at least I got postcards! It's funny to think that at the time, we were all but a 3 hour Chunnel ride away from each other. Next time!

The view from my favorite starving student's apartment. Apparently she now lives in an animated world. Life is hard.

Mount Cook, New Zealand
I actually received these from a friend of a friend, who mentioned that I collect postcards (thanks!!). Oddly enough, there is no traditional postmark on the postcard, but check out the round stamp!

Chicago, Illinois
This is Chicago's Cloud Gate, aka the Chicago Bean. It's hard for me to explain why I love this thing so much, but I think a large part of it is how its shape reflects the surrounding downtown Chicago skyline and its visitors. Because of its shape and location, every angle provides a different view. Visitors can also walk underneath the arched Bean and find themselves reflected on multiple surfaces. Think funhouse mirrors, but without the clowns.
