What's a trip to Orlando without going to the DisneyWorld resorts? Unfortunately, my friend and his family went on a vacation to Australia, but he was nice enough to leave park tickets for me at my hotel. My first stop was the Hollywood Studios, since I've never been, and is best described as Universal Studios with a Disney vibe to it. The majority of the attractions are stage shows, and the rest of it is built like a studio lot. After Hollywood Studios closed, I hauled ass to the Magic Kingdom to get in some key rides, and to also catch the fireworks show. There's definitely something magical about a Disney fireworks show: the fireworks are new and jaw dropping, but what really makes them is the synchronization with Disney narrative and music. Next on my Orlando to-do list is to check out their version of Fantasmic!
