Monte-Carlo, Monaco - Day 1

The conference arranged to have a shuttle pick up people from the Nice airport to the Fairmont Hotel in Monte-Carlo, so Christine and I hitched a ride early in the afternoon. The hotel itself is situated next door from the Monte-Carlo Casino, so it wasn't too far of a walk (not that anything in Monte-Carlo is actually far from each other). Judging by the cars in the driveway of our hotel and the casino, it appears that Monte-Carlo is unaware of the global recession. I've already lost count of the number of Bentleys, Maseratis, Porches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis that I've seen, and I'm sure there's more driving around.
